Purpose
To provide the student with a cost effective way to try out Tae kwon-do via
a introduction to Bernards Institute of Tae kwon-do (BIT) and Self
Defence.
Format of Course
New starter classes are delivered as a 12 week course. This is sub-divided
into 4 parts, each part being 3 weeks long. Each part costs £14 or the complete
course is £45.
Each new starter is required to complete a new starter form and bring it along
to their first session.
Aims
1. To meet and interact with other students
2. To improve flexibility, strength and fitness
3. To learn & perform the basic stances
4. To learn & be able to perform a basic punch, block and kick
5. To be able to form a informed opinion about BIT as to whether student would
like to become a member and study Tae kwon-do
On completion of 12 week course
Students pay as they come at only £3 per class based on the
understanding that they will become members of BIT within the next 4 weeks.
Otherwise classes are paid for monthly in advance at £16 for 4 * 1 hour classes.
To become a member, students are required to complete a yearly Membership Form
and this costs £30
Tiny Tots (4 To 6 years Olds) On Thursdays 5 to 6pm
5pm to 5.40pm - New tiny tot starters only. This allows absolute beginners to learn the basics of how to move backwards and forwards whilst punching/blocking. Also allows them
to train with more experience students.
5.15 to 6pm - Experience Tiny Tots. Co-ordination and fitness exercises performed with beginners. Then the beginners finish allowing instructor to teach at a higher & faster level.
